Dr Dave Howells qualified as a doctor in Cardiff in 2001.  He has worked in the field of Mental Health for over 20 years specialising in Old Age Psychiatry from 2007.  

 

He has previously worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist for the NHS, and has also worked as a Second Opinion Appointed Doctor (SOAD) for Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW).

 

Dr Dave Howells is a member of;

He has received extensive training on the indications, prescription and use of

He is a motivated, compassionate psychiatrist who understands the benefits some patients report from cannabis-based products.  His wish is for standardised, quality assured CBMPs to be available for patients (where appropriate) to have a trial of these therapies for their condition(s).

 

Dr Dave Howells is a founding member of Cannabis Clinic Cardiff, set up in 2021 to help address the unmet needs of mental health patients who may benefit from a prescription of medicinal cannabis.
